1 - (used) SOUTH BEND Model 400, 16" x 30" centers precision geared head engine lathe having (12) geared speed head stock with speeds from 62 to 1600 RPM. The spindle has a 2" thru hole and a D1-6 camlock nose. It has a spindle jog button and a foot actuated spjndle brake. It has inch/metric threading, threading dial, and longitudinal carriage stops. The chip pan is removable. There is a motor driven coolant pump in the tailstock leg. This machine can be seen under power on our warehouse floor. The price includes loading on your FLATBED truck (skidding or crating is extra.) The machine is in very good overall condition. Someone has used a grinder to increase the length of the partial gap in front of the spindle. They removed about 1-2" of the tailstock ways. It does not effect the performance or accuracy and you rarely, if ever, mount a steady rest that close to the chuck. We do not have any accesories to go with the machine, it is a base machine with motors and controls (220-3-60 AC only.)
