This listing is for one 85 foot long 1917 Pullman Sleeper car with recent fire damage in the main compartment in rough cosmetic condition. Here is your chance to own a BIG slice of railroad history! You don't see these for sale often. This is a real - full sized - 3-cabin Pullman sleeper car with 3-axle trucks. The owner has told us that it is a 1917 era car. The owner wants to find it a new home or he will be forced to scrap it. This car is located in Bozeman, Montana and does have access for the trucks and crane you will need to take it home. The interior pictures were taken from one end of the car to the other. The exterior pictures were taken in clockwise order. The axle box we looked in was in great condition as you can see in the photo. The fire happened last summer and was put out quickly, but it did burn up the soft materials in the center compartment. The metal roof has been breached by the fire in several places in the center cabin. This item is a PICK-UP ONLY item. We do not have any way to make arrangements for moving this very large item. Other train cars have been sold from the collection and are being moved by low-boy trucks. Hopefully you know more about moving these than we do. With some restoration this would be a great attraction to a business like a resturant or an antique store. It may also be of value to train restoration experts for parts. We just don't want to see it go to the scrap pile. |
