A Wagner "Cy-Mod" powder coating booth. The product openings are 36 in wide x 40 in high. Overall length of booth is 8 ft, 10 inches plus 2 ft vestibules on each end for an overall length of 12 ft, 10 in. Powder recovery system consists of both a cyclone and a cartridge filter system. This set up permits more rapid color changes when multi-colors are being run. Note that there is a sliding panel in the powder recovery system. When a "spray to waste" powder is being sprayed, the door is slid in one direction and the overspray powder is drawn directly into the cartridge filter unit. When a powder that is to be recovered and reused is being sprayed, the door is slid to the other position and the powder is drawn first through the cyclone. The cyclone will capture about 95% of the powder which is suitable for recovery and reuse. There are no guns with this system. However, the booth was originally set up for both automatic and manual guns. The Ultra-violet flame detection system and interlock (which is required when automatic guns are used) are there. Note that the fluid beds in the foreground of one of the pictures are not part of this system. |
