Nikon SMZ-U trinocular research stereo microscope (zoom range 0.75X - 7.5X) with boom stand, coarse/fine focus mount, ED (Extra-low Distortion) Plan 0.75X objective lens (working distance 117mm or 4.6 inches), imaging module (with 100% visual position and 80% imaging port/20% eyepieces), and binocular head with C-W10X/24 eyepieces. Includes a Fostec 150W fiberoptic light source with rheostat and ringlight that provides vertical reflected light illumination. This is still a current model that can be upgraded with various light delivery methods, filters, etc. The Nikon ED glass corrects for distortion, surface irregularity, chromatic aberration and field curvature to ensure flat images at all magnification ranges. Using the Parallel optical system, the light follows two parallel paths through independent optical systems before passing through a common objective lens. This optical design allows acceptance of separate intermediate optical systems (optional coaxial episcopic illuminator, teaching head, and others) resulting in a wide range of applications. This microscope is in excellent condition with minor scratching of the paint on the body, and has been cleaned and lubricated by a professional service company. The mechanical movements are smooth, and the optics are clear as can be seen in the images taken with a Nikon Coolpix 5000 camera.
