The Model 1340VS is one example. Built from the design of our long time successful model 1340F, the model 1340VS is equipped with variable speed inverter drive and digital display of spindle speeds. Now, the change of speed is simply the turning of a dial, and the number of speeds is infinitely variable. To maintain high torque at lower speed rangs, the headstock is equipped with 2-step gear change lever. The front panel of the headstock has a jog button for easy arrangement of gears. Another new function is the push-pull knob monted at the front of the apron. This knob controls the feed direction of the carriage, it greatly enchances the ease of operation of the machine. The spindle is made out of forged steel, induction hardened and precision ground for high accuracy and durability. It is mounted on 2 high precision tapered roller bearings offering maximum stability even at 2,000 RPM.
