Subject: New hyd-mech m-20A 20"X30" heavy duty mitering band saw
HEAVY- DUTY PIVOT STYLE MITERING BANDSAW
The M20A is a heavy -duty pivot style bandsaw designed to provide exceptional cutting performance in multi-shift, high production environments. Its ability to miter cut from 90 to 30 degrees makes it a great machine for large fabrication jobs. The machine’s PLC 100 controller can be easily programmed for up to 99 different jobs, and the optional PLC 500 control allows for automatic production of double angle parts with accuracy of 0.1 degree on each angle. The easy programming of either controller, and the user-friendly manual control switches make for minimum job setup time and cost effective operation. The optional full capacity hydraulic overhead bundling clamps provide for efficient high production cutting of various material bundles.
MACHINE CONSTRUCTION & FEATURES
The machine base is designed and produced with electro-welded steel components for maximum rigidity and support.
A chip removal auger and removable 9-gallon coolant tank are built into the base.
Leveling bolts are located at corners of the machine.
The machine weighs a sturdy 7,700 lbs and can support an 8,000lb workload.
It’s roller infeed table and shuttle vise assembly provide material indexing of up to 32 in a single movement with length accuracy of .005 per stroke.
The machine carries a 1 1/2 blade, which is driven by a heavy-duty gearbox and 10 HP motor, which is controlled by an AC inverter drive. Blade speed is easily adjusted from the control console and the wide range of available band speeds allows for efficient cutting of many types of material.
Blade Wheels - 22 high quality cast iron wheels with heavy-duty wheel & gearbox shaft bearings.
Powered Blade Brush - driven off the blade drive wheel keeps the blade gullets clean, helping to maximize blade performance and life.
Blade Tensioning - hydraulic blade tensioning provides consistent automatic blade tension while allowing quick and easy untensioning for blade changing.
MACHINE CONSTRUCTION & FEATURES
Hydraulic System - a 3HP driven hydraulic pump supplies system pressure. The system pressure through 3-position directional valves controls all vising, head up/down, head swing, shuttle movement, and blade tension functions The pump and motor assembly and hydraulic manifold complete with all function directional valves all swing out with the hydraulic compartment door for easy service access, and minimal downtime.
Hyd-Mech’s Direct Downfeed system provides easy adjustment of both head feed rate and cutting pressure. Feed rate readout is displayed on the machine PLC providing accurate adjustment and setup
Electrical System - the electrical control components are housed in a console in the front of the machine. The operator manual switches and PLC control are conveniently located in the console. Components and wiring are neatly laid out and labeled for easy troubleshooting.
Controls - conveniently located in the front of the machine, to the right of outfeeding material, the selector switches and pushbuttons allow the operator to manually control all machine functions including emergency stops.
The Automatic cycle is controlled by the Mitsubishi PLC 100 or optional PLC 500 controller.
The operator enters job information through the PLC interface keypad. The information required will be desired part length and quantity of pieces (with the optional PLC 500, the required angle at each end of the part are also entered). Up to 99 different jobs can be entered into the PLC memory, and can be called up and performed at any time. Also, a job queue function allows up to 5 jobs to be picked from the memory, and run consecutively.
In Manual mode - the PLC displays blade speed, feed rate and length system readout
(The optional PLC 500 also will display angle information). A single part operation can also be performed while in the Manual mode. The operator simply enters the desired part length, presses the cycle start button, starts the blade, and the machine will index that length, cut it off and raise the head back up. As well as the single part operation the optional PLC 500 has an angle ‘go to’ function, which allows the operator to enter a desired angle and have the machine automatically move the head to that angle.
In Automatic mode - the PLC displays blade speed, feed rate, part length, quantity required, and number of pieces cut
(And angle information with optional PLC 500)
Blade Drive - the blade drive motor is controlled by a Mitsubishi inverter drive. Provides smooth operation and infinite adjustment from 50 to 350 sfm.
Full Capacity Overhead Bundling - hydraulically powered overhead clamp that moves down on the material from above. Its downward (clamping) and upward (unclamping) movement are controlled and timed with the opening and closing of the moveable vise. Very effective and necessary for bundle cutting various material shapes, widths & sizes. Can also be effective in dampening of cutting vibration.
Out of Stock Switch - mounted on the shuttle vise, when the vise closes and no material is between its jaws, the machine hydraulics will shut down. (The cut in progress at the time of the switch being tripped is allowed to be finished before shut down occurs) This option allows the machine to be left unattended with no danger of the machine continuing to cycle with no material left.
Vertical Rollers - two 3 diameter rollers mounted vertically at each side of the end of machine’s infeed conveyor. Assists in material alignment.
PLC 500 - fully programmable controller that allows for automatic production of jobs consisting of double angle parts.
Machine can automatically swing the head, alternating between two different programmed angles, producing parts with a different angle on each end.
Variable Vise Pressure - allows for adjustment of the clamping pressure of both vises. Recommended for thin wall tubing and other light material applications where standard vise pressure may deform the material.
Digital Angle Display - console mounted digital readout display for indication of angles for head position.
(Not necessary when PLC 500 option is selected as angle display is incorporated into PLC 500.)
Mist Lubrication System – air mist system providing blade lubrication and cooling. Alternative to standard flood system.
