Leitz Wetzlar OrthoplanTrinocular Biological Microscope complete with power source and digital camera, in excellent condition. The trinocular head has a photo tube using the standard eyepiece diameter of 23.2 mm, and I am including an excellent Nikon Coolpix 990 with an attachable Leitz Periplan eyepiece (relay lens), which works very well on this instrument, nice and easy. The camera kit includes a power converter, USB cable, memory card, and a PC card reader. The photomicrograph taken with this setup is a stained Turtox section through the 10x objective. There is a sliding plate beneath the head with a polarizing filter and a daylight blue filter. I am including another polarizing filter of 38 mm diameter that fits neatly over the field lens, allowing high-quality simple polarizing as well as brightfield applications. The five Leitz 45 mm focal length objectives are in very good condition, with clear glass and very minor wear on their barrels. Four are Plan, and one is a Plan Apo. They include a 4/0.12 170/-, Pl Fl 10/0.30 170/-, Pl 25/0.50 170/0/17 with spring tip, Pl 40/0.65 170/0.17 with spring tip, and an excellent Pl Apo oel 100/1.32 170/0.17 with spring tip. The trinocular head includes two Periplan GW 8X eyepieces, with 30 mm barrels and a super-wide 28 field number. There is a smooth X-Y slide holder on the stage. A 100 watt tungsten filament bulb in the lamp holder is controlled by a Leitz power transformer of 2-17 volts and 6 amps, for a lot of light. A spare bulb is included. The adjustable achro. 0.90 condenser has a diaphragm, a flip-up top lens, and a dual filter holder (no filter is included here, but they are built into the sliding plate above). The finish on the stand is very good, with slight signs of wear. You might think that a large research instrument like this could be difficult or complicated to use. Actually, just the opposite is true, with all parts and functions easy and smooth to operate. This wonderful microscope and camera accessories are clean and ready for immediate use. I will warrant that when this scope leaves my shop, it is complete, clean, adjusted, tested, and functioning as described. |
