Hardinge Compound Slide Rest For DV59 & DSM Lathes: Model DV4 Compound Slide Rest. A compound slide rest, which mounts directly onto a machine bed plate, is used for straight or taper turning and boring, facing and chamfering. A locking ahandle located on the back portion of the slide rest allows for quick, easy mounting and dismounting of the slide rest. The maximum travel of the top slide is 4-1/4 inches; of the bottom slide 5 inches. It can be swiveled and locked to any angle within 360 degrees. Two separate locks ensure positive clamping to resist movement under the heaviest cuts. A magnified section at the front of the slide displays, in degrees the angle at which the slide is positioned. Slide movement is controlled with two easily-read, 2-1/2 inch diameter black and white screw dials. The dials are graduated in .001 inch increments. Each .001 inch increment of the bottom slide dial represents a .001 inch change in the diameter of the workpiece or .0005 inch movement of the slide. Each .001 inch increment of the top slide represents a .0001 inch movement of the slide. The feed screws of the slide rest are completely covered for full protection against chips. The height from the bedplate to the spindle centerline is approximately 4-1/2 inches. * All items are subject to prior sale. All items are sold "AS - IS, Where - IS" and with all faults.
