This is a Covell Gang saw. 220vac 3 phase 5hp spindle This unit is more than a surface grinder. It is setup to slow cut hard materials like glass, stone & metals. Its essentially a surface grinder with an arbor that takes stacked diamond cutting blades, although a grinding wheel can be used instead of the cutting blades. The hydraulic table feed adjusts down to a creep feed to slowly cut the material, and it has a selectable fast table return, so it doesn't creep back to the start of the cut. I bought this unit to put in my shop, but its too big to fit in my little space. The unit has been poorly hand repainted and could use some clean up and the top door guides have been cut off so the machine would fit in the truck we used to haul it. They can easily be welded or bolted back on. There is a coolant pump, but no coolant container, a magnetic chuck, many extra boxed cutters and a box of spacers. The tooloing is worth the price of the machine alone. All of the blades pictured are diamond. The shroud around the work area keeps all the coolant spray in and the door is counter-weighted. I haven't really used this machine, I just fired it up to test functions. I didn't find anything wrong, but this is definately an as-is piece of equipment.
