Andor’s DV465-UV Electron Multiplying CCD camera (EMCCD) is one of the most sensitive UV to NIR detector ever. It has photon counting capabilities without requiring an Image Intensifier. Containing the L3Visionä Frame Transfer CCD sensor from Marconi Applied Technologies, it utilises a unique electron multiplying structure that is built into the silicon. This enables charge from each pixel (20x30mm) to be multiplied on the sensor before it is read out. The gain of the camera can be varied from unity up to a thousand times. Andor is the first to offer this technology as a complete, software controlled system for scientific imaging and spectroscopy applications. The system also benefits from negligible dark current with thermoelectric cooling down to –75°C. Ultimate in sensitivity – the optimal Signal/Noise performance for low light detection Min operating temp of –75oC with TE cooling Negligible dark current without the aggravation or safety concerns associated with LN2 Guaranteed hermetic vacuum seal Ultimate reliability and sustained lifetime performance characteristics Ideal for fast imaging with the advantage of having no moving parts or concerns about mechanical vibration. Increased duty cycle when imaging very low photon fluxes i.e. minimal loss of signal while reading out the CCD Software Control of Electron Multiplication Easy optimisation of camera Signal/Noise performance to different light conditions Friendly Windows user interface offers system integration, automation and advanced data _manipulation facilities Built in May 2002, this camera is supplied with 6 months warranty & Controller card.
