Here is a good used 9" Southbend lathe. It all works like it should. The back gear has a couple broken teeth, nothing that affects its use, but they are broken. It comes with:
Aloris AXA Toolpost and 4 holders. All the holders are in good shape, but 3 did not make it in the photos.
6" Buck Chuck, Adjust Tru, with internal and external jaws
6" Cushman 4 jaw chuck with reversible jaws.
Lantern tool post and assorted holders.
3C Drawbar and an assortment of good used 3C collets. The collets are not shown.
One very cool thing on this lathe is the variable frequency drive. By Allen Bradley.
It gives infinite speed control from 0-max motor rating with the turn of the knob on the fly if you like and "instant reverse".
At any speed just push the button, the chuck stops briefly to help prevent a sudden dismount from the spindle then goes in the opposite direction at the same speed as before. So what does all this mean for the home shop guy.
Well this device allows you to run a 3 phase motor on standard house current. It produces real 3 phase power from your single phase input. 110v to 208v 3 phase power, just plug it in. It can be programmed for up to 8 different machines, though you can only run one at a time. Up to 1 hp each.
The old cable you see in the cabinet is from the old drum switch It is gone.
