Mastersonics Inc Spin Welder Model #: WP6802 E-BAY IS OUR LIVING - WE TAKE IT SERIOUSLY! Spin Welding is the technology of choice when assembling round or cylindrically shaped parts and in particular, parts molded in semi-crystalline materials. During this process one part is held motionless in a fixture while the other is spun at high speed. The spinning part is pressed against the fixed part, creating friction in the bond area that causes the plastics to melt. When the spinning is stopped, the parts are held together under pressure as they cool, creating the weld. Cycle times are usually just 1 or 2 seconds. The spin welder has been successful in welding a variety of filters, pump housings, tanks and pressure vessels, insulated containers, hose fittings, rigid tubing, piping and pails.
