Subject: New wells-index horizontal combination milling machine
The Model 860C is a massive, rigid machine weighing 1 2/3 tons and is made from high tensile strength close grained American cast iron. The Model 860C is 100% U.S.A. precision built and inspected in every area to provide years of optimum performance at lower cost.
The ram, turret, column, knee, saddle and table have cross ribbing to insure maximum stiffness. All joints are accurately machined and hand scraped to provide accurate mating and insure the close tolerances for which this machine was built.
In addition, each joint (table to saddle, saddle to knee, and knee to column) is provided with an adjustable gib to insure long life and accuracy.
A few of the standard features on the Model 860C included at no extra cost are:
A. 3HP spindle motors on both horizontal and vertical spindles.
B. Variable speed drive on both vertical and horizontal spindles.
C. Power feed on the vertical quill Available at all spindle speeds and rated for a 5/8 drill.
D. Electric Controls - includes reversing switches and all wiring.
E. One type “B arbor support for 1.875 OD bearings.
F. A one-shot lubrication system.
G. Hand scraped hard chromed ways.
J. Precision ground Acme leadscrews and nuts.
