The FB70 was designed by Piero Bambi to commemorate the 70th anniversary of La Marzocco. The FB70 body is constructed of Dupont Lexan with a metallic auto body finish. Each FB70 is made to order by artisans in the La Marzocco factories. They take a little longer to produce, but we believe that they are worth the wait.

So, exactly what is the difference between the Automatic (Model AV) and the Semi-Automatic (Model EE). From a cosmetic standpoint, the black keypads (in all of the pictures shown) are missing from the EE model. The volumetric keypads control how much water is dispensed through the coffee each time you push a particular button. This is called automatic volumetric dosing. On the EE Model, large white switches replace these keypads. You can still get the same result, but you have to hit the switch a second time to stop the water flow/espresso extraction. The AV model costs so much more because of that AV (Automatic Volumetric Dosing) system, and still has the white manual buttons, these buttons are just a little smaller but they do the same thing. Think of the difference between a car with a manual transmission versus one with an automatic transmission. That "Automatic" part of the transmission is a system all by itself that has to be put in in order to enhance the features of the original car.
So is it worth the extra expense? That totally depends on your level of expertise. Typically, the cafés with more seasoned baristas and rigorous training programs use the EE models. The AV machine can still be controlled manually, but the EE machine can not be controlled from an automated standpoint.
