HP 8672S Synthesized Signal Generator The 8672S Synthesized Signal Generator consists of an 8672A Synthesized Signal Generator and an 86720A Frequency Extension Unit. The 8672A Synthesized Signal Generator, with a frequency range of 2GHz to 18GHz, this generator will cover those high frequency requirements. The RF output is constantly variable from +1 dBm to -120 dBm with an output impedance of 50 ohms. Spectral purity is excellent on this generator and phase-locked loop responses are optimized to allow the 8672A to exhibit the lowest possible single-sideband phase noise. It is programmable from the front-panel or a rear HP-IB connector. The generator is capable of both AM and FM modulation internally. The 86720A uses a heterodyne coverage of a standard 8672A to a lower limit of 10MHz. As a single 9-inch high package, the 8672S features 10MHz to 18GHz single-knob continuous frequency tuning, calibrated CW output power, and a modulator allowing high-quality pulse modulation of the entire frequency range. All front-panel controls, with the exception of the line switches, are HP-IB programmable. A nice clean unit with operations manual & 30-days warranty. Unit was calibrated on Jan. 11, 2007.
