Rebuilt: new catalyst beds, heat exchanger, fan w/ fan motor and interconnecting plenums. 150 pellets and have been tested yearly for proper activity. Approximately 4,950 lbs of catalyst. Heat Exchanger: K style Aluminized steel at 60% effectiveness. Fan: 125 HP w/ VFD designed for 23” wc @ 160°C w/ 2% moisture and at 500’ elevation. External insulation w/ cladding provides a maximum skin temp of 160°F. Details of the rebuild will be provided w/ the equipment The catalyst has been tested by Carus catalyst company with the following comments " The chemical and physical analysis conducted on the sample show no evidence of significant deactivation" also, " A 97.2% hydrocarbon destruction efficiency was attained at a mid-bed temperature of 625F and an inlet temperature of 586F". Note - Carus states that " The efficiency measured in the laboratory CARULITE standard test is not directly transferable to a field installation, as the CARULITE catalyst is under very conservative linear velocity conditions. It is generally found that a field reactor operates at a higher efficiency for a given temperature".
